Rewardful

Affiliate and referral programs that run on top of Stripe

Rewardful adds an affiliate programme to a subscription business without building the tracking yourself. It connects to Stripe, so commissions are calculated from real subscription revenue rather than from a separate ledger, including what happens when a referred customer upgrades, downgrades or churns. Affiliates get a link to any page on your site, a dashboard showing what they have earned, and payouts through PayPal mass payments or Wise bulk transfers. Setup is two scripts or a native integration, and the same programme can run double-sided incentives, coupon code tracking, first or last touch attribution and private invite-only campaigns. Plans are tiered by how much monthly revenue your affiliates bring in rather than by seats, and Rewardful takes no cut of that revenue: Starter covers up to $7,500 a month, Growth up to $15,000, and Enterprise beyond it. Paying annually gives two months free.

  • Connects to Stripe and tracks real subscription revenue
  • No transaction fee on the revenue affiliates bring in
  • Affiliate dashboard with links to any page on your site
  • PayPal mass payouts and Wise bulk transfers
  • Coupon code tracking and double-sided incentives
  • First or last touch attribution
  • Private invite-only campaigns and a branded portal
  • Self-referral fraud detection and multiple currencies

What are the primary benefits of using Rewardful for a SaaS business?

Users report that Rewardful is a straightforward, easy-to-setup solution for businesses using Stripe. It is specifically valued for its ability to track complex subscription events such as recurring commissions, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, and refunds. Additionally, it supports coupon-based tracking, which is useful for platforms like TikTok and Instagram where link-based tracking is difficult.

Does Rewardful help with finding and recruiting affiliates?

No, several users note that Rewardful is designed for managing existing partners rather than finding new ones. It does not assist with outreach or filtering for quality partners, and some users suggest that the success of an affiliate program depends more on manual outreach and recruitment efforts than on the software itself.

What are the common complaints regarding the user experience?

Some partners find the platform frustrating because it segments each company into its own subdomain and login, requiring them to manage numerous separate accounts. Others have reported that some programs using the software lack activation support or clear communication, and there are concerns regarding the reliability of tracking, with some affiliates reporting that clicks and conversions were not always recorded.

How does Rewardful handle affiliate payouts?

Rewardful facilitates payouts, though some users have questioned whether these must be handled manually through services like PayPal. It is noted as a tool that manages the technical side of payouts for Stripe-based businesses.

Are there concerns about the reliability of conversion tracking?

While outright scamming is considered rare, some affiliates warn that merchants control what counts as a conversion in the dashboard. There are reports of companies changing attribution windows without notifying affiliates, and some users advise pulling your own signup data to cross-reference against the platform's reporting.

“If you want to go outside the platform, Rewardful integrates with Thinkific and handles tracking and payouts without much setup. The hard part is not the tech though — it is recruiting affiliates who actually move volume.”

“maybe u could start a creator program on rewardful or places like that”

“ChatGPT told me even Rewardful requires you to manually pay people in PayPal? Is that true? That seems like an awful experience”

“The name is terrible but the software looks a lot better than Rewardful.”
sardamit · reddit ·
“I've been going through Rewardful-based programs specifically looking for beginner-friendly options. What I found is that a large portion of them show exactly the symptoms you described — no activation support, no response to emails, unclear terms. Some I genuinely couldn't tell if the company was still operating.”
shopchinaguide · reddit ·
“I used Rewardful too, and played with Lemon Squeezy’s built-in thing, but the real unlock was finding people already answering relevant questions on Reddit and niche forums.”
Dismal-Marketing6911 · reddit ·
“Yeah I would not pay for Rewardful or Tolt before you have some sales and know your funnel works. Get a few wins first with direct outreach and places like Reddit, SocListener can help find sales posts there so you can test demand cheap.”
Intrepid_Boss9449 · reddit ·
“I'm using Rewardful. It's better not to connect affiliates before making sales. Affiliate program should be added when you already have sales and a funnel to get new users.”

“Any one using still using rewardful or tolt for affiliate marketing?”
Sea_Statistician6304 · reddit ·
“Rewardful for example is super frustrating because they segment each company into their own subdomain and login, so we as the partner have 15+ logins. All it does is makes us never login to any of our Rewardful partner accounts.”
efficientapp · reddit ·
“For affiliate-style tracking like Rewardful / Tolt, it’s a bit more straightforward for payouts + Stripe subscriptions.”
user-7440 · reddit ·
“I went through this exact setup with Rewardful on top of Stripe for a SaaS, and the tech side is only half the battle. What moved the needle for us was tightening who we approved and how we onboarded them.”
Key-Boat-7519 · reddit ·
“I still stick with Rewardful though, and would recommend it rather than some cheaper alternatives I checked, especially for SaaS. The main reason is the Stripe setup and subscription tracking. With SaaS, at least in my experience, the hard part is tracking recurring commissions, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, refunds, coupon codes, and payouts.”
Dynamic_Seashell · reddit ·
“Rewardful is usually the easy starting point if you’re on Stripe, and PartnerStack if you want the marketplace side too. ReferralCandy is more worth a look if you want referral + affiliate in the same motion, not just a straight partner program.”
Terrible-Success-932 · reddit ·
“It’s designed to be a lightweight alternative if you don’t want to depend on tools like Rewardful or FirstPromoter.”
Whole_Play_6157 · reddit ·
“used a couple for saas, rewardful is prob the easiest if you’re on stripe, setup is pretty straightforward. Tried others like firstpromoter / some newer ones, all kinda similar tbh.”
EducationOtherwise70 · reddit ·
“rewardful itself is probably fine but the merchant controls what counts as a "conversion" in their dashboard - i've seen companies quietly change their attribution window from 90 days to 7 days and never tell affiliates. ask them specifically what event triggers a conversion and pull your own signup data to cross-reference”
Federal_Standard5917 · reddit ·
“It’s possible, but outright “scamming” is rare if they’re using something like Rewardful. More common issues are attribution windows, cookie overrides, self-referrals getting blocked, or conversions being marked as ineligible in fine print.”
Background-Might3453 · reddit ·
“So, I was wondering if anyone has experienced that SaaS businesses have scammed with the conversions in some way? Is that possible if they're using Rewardful?”
anoredditor98 · reddit ·
“My problem is that I need Stripe to manage payments and, more importantly, for my affiliates to receive their commissions through Rewardful.”

“We've tested platforms like Tapfiliate for its straightforward SaaS tracking and customization, alongside Rewardful's simplicity and Cello's partner management tools for affiliate launches.”

“Stuff like Rewardful and Tolt are great for getting started fast, and if you later feel limited and want more control over tracking/reporting, EnactSoft could be worth a look too.”
Such_Profit1703 · reddit ·
“We tried popular SaaS solutions like Rewardful and FirstPromoter. They are solid tools, but we ran into a fundamental limitation: they always generate and control their own referral links.”
Ok_Researcher_6962 · reddit ·
“Can this be set up with rewardful? And how are clicks and conversions tracked.”
