“Obsidian is an MD editor tool for me... If you want the act of note taking to help you improve recall, science has shown that writing with a pen and paper/tablet beats typing.”
SoroushTorkian · reddit ·
“I have been getting the hang of obsidian as I use it with my Hermes agent as a knowledgebase. I have separate vaults for my personal notes that are not touched by the agent and one specifically for it to write in.”
Admirable_Shallot752 · reddit ·
“Recently I noticed that obsidian is unable to get some video files I uploaded and now they can't be found. I can't keep all the video files in my phone because then I will run out of space and won't have any for new ones.”
Troll-boi123 · reddit ·
“Also forgot to mention I need to be able to search through my phone and don’t want to pay. Can I’d do that easily with obsidian ?”

“This works great on my laptop, but the password field is empty on my phone and desktop obsidian apps. The problem is that this field is read-only so the plugin does not work on desktop and mobile.”

“Helix Notes. It’s simple and fast searches too. Not bloated like obsidian.”
faisalfarooqui · reddit ·
“Obsidian is a Markdown client and the task management should be integrated into that workflow, instead of being its own separate system.”
Mundane-Elk-5536 · reddit ·
“I vastly prefer Obsidian. Many of my workmates live in Notion. And if this is for work there's likely a knowledge management platform they'd prefer you to put your notes in, such as OneNote or Confluence.”
Psengath · reddit ·
“But if you prefer save them as text files - Obsidian for sure.”
Icy-Juggernaut-4579 · reddit ·
“Definitely Obsidian”
AdLogical7286 · reddit ·
“Exported Obsidian notes with the right theme, just look clean, plus writing them almost never requires me to have my hands leave the keyboard. I do however usually put a call-out at the very top to break it up visually”
KidKang · reddit ·
“How does obsidian plugins work when you have several vaults.”
Sea-Replacement7541 · reddit ·
“You're basically describing an automated pipeline, input goes to Gemini, then it pushes structured data to Calendar and Obsidian. Doing all three synchronously in one smooth flow isn't something you'll find in a beginner tutorial, but the pieces are doable if you break it down.”
livelygamysharpness · reddit ·

“In Obsidian, if a note is actually linked into others, you don't have to remember it standalone - you rediscover it by following a thread from something you do remember. The backlinks pane has done more for my retention than any amount of bolding or headers ever did.”

Fine-Swimmer-8106 · reddit ·
“Obsidian supports all of that but you should still do a trial run before committing to it. Learn the ins-and-outs of Obsidian ([reading the documentation is in fact the best way to learn it, despite the many youtube tutorials giving the illusion that reading is unnecessary](https://obsidian.md/help/)).”
endlessroll · reddit ·
“Right now though my biggest problem is trying to get obsidian to open faster across 6000 files, only 1100 of which are the actual obsidian vault. The other 5k are just the working project folders, it's technically two separate libraries in the same vault so obsidian doesn't actually auto stamp the front matter of workspace docs.”
college_hustle · reddit ·
